Social is a bar in Peckham that serves the creative community of Copeland Park.

The team found it difficult in maintaining a consistent expression. The bar is next door to a gallery and frequently collaborates with them on various events, so the identity had to express a creative tone, whilst being friendly. We worked together on delivering an identity that clarified the offering of “Drinks, Kitchen, Culture”.

At the heart of the brand is a set of light-hearted illustrations that express a playful loose energy. In addition to the illustrations, the rebrand involves hand crafted typography. This is then contrasted with simple structured lock ups that hold all of the graphical elements in place. This boxy, linear structure references the architectural motifs inside the building.

The brand takes ownership of the orange as its lead colour; a refreshing vibrant shade that brings to mind cocktails in the sun.
